Emily Rose Rudnick: Earthly Treasures

Crescent Tree Gallery is pleased to present Emily Rose Rudnick: Earthly Treasures. The exhibition opens on January 4, 2025, and will run through February 23, 2025, with an opening reception on Saturday, January 4 from 6 PM to 9 PM and a second reception on Saturday, February 1 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Both receptions are free and open to the public.

Emily Rose Rudnick’s passion for painting was awakened with her first art classes in college, where she immersed herself in botanical illustration and took courses in color theory. The study of delicate details and thoughtful use of color continue to characterize her work and are on full display in her recent paintings. What appear at first to be luscious, jewel-bright abstractions are in fact close examinations of the textures and refractions of jewelry and other precious objects.

By blurring comprehension of the physical forms of cherished heirlooms, these compositions make tangible the emotional significance such objects accumulate over generations of inheritance. The artist, who experienced the loss of her home at an early age, explores the memories and experiences that are absorbed by treasured things, as well as their persistence when those vessels disappear.

Originally from Boston, Emily Rose Rudnick studied in Miami before earning her BFA from the University of Southern California’s Roski School of Art and Design, where she studied painting, printmaking, and ceramics. Her work has been exhibited in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami, as well as internationally in Milan and Barcelona.
